The gems, which are made using carbon from their pet's ashes, can be created from any animal, from a hamster to a horse.

Pet crematorium CPC, based at Thiplow, near Royston, hopes the new service, which it is offering in partnership with memorial diamond manufacturer Life Gem, will provides bereaved pet owners with the chance of having an everlasting link to their late companions.
Prices range from £2,100 to £15,000, ($ 4,000 to $30,000) depending on the size and quality of the diamond, rather than the size of the animal.
