Here we go again.

The past couple weeks I've been really annoyed with men and their approach. So I've compiled a list of things that get under my skin.

1-Being set up with men that are 30+ who ask you to send them a picture. Relaaax my man, Damn!!

2-Men that use the same whack lines on everyone, ALL THE TIME. You know this because, as your telling your friend the story she's like "Oh no! He got me too!!".
3-Men who give you the Color Me Bad "I wanna sex you up" stare. Oh wait... are they trying to seduce us with that (in reality what looks like) "I'm really a psycho killer" stare. Your making me nervous guys. Stop that shit.4-When your on public transportation and a man looses his balance and rubs up against you "by mistake". You have to then shoot him the "PLEASE don't make me cut YOOUU!!! I am too tired to be sittin' in central bookings tonight." look.

5-(This one actually blew me away) How much do you make? I'm like "Why? You about to lose your job? Men... everyone is not looking for a man to support them. I'm not turning down any offers though.

Corporate Ghetto

If you have done at least 4 of any of these listed, then you my friend are in fact corporate ghetto. I found this on mediatakeout. I have done at least 7 of these or more. I have highlighted what I have done and continue to do so ya'll won't feel so bad.

1. You have at least one drawer/cabinet that contains more food than office supplies.
2. Not only do you know all the security guards, janitors and cafeteria
workers, one of them has asked you out on a date.
3. Your version of a conference call is when you call your friends and plan what you are doing for the weekend.
4. The only time your man/woman picks you up from work is on payday.
5. Friends and family members call you at work to cuss you out because you didn't answer your phone quickly enough.
6. You paint your nails at your desk.
7. When you are on a personal call you, laugh so loud your co-workers on the other side of the office come and ask you what's so funny.
8. You have pictures on your wall with you and your friends at the club.
9. To beat the system, you have codes for personal calls that let's someone know to call you right back. (For example, let the phone ring two times and call me right back)
10. You give your out-of-town friends your company's 1-800 number.
11. Before calling in sick, you rehearse your sick voice and sick story several times out loud.
12. Coworkers ask about your father's surgery that required you to miss work for days - and you don't even know who your daddy is.
13. You use the company's postage machine to stamp your personal mail.
14. Your kid's school supplies all have your company's insignia on them.
15. You call in sick on payday Friday and send your cousin to pick up your paycheck.
16. You contribute $1 to the office Christmas party, eat the most food and take a platter of lunch meat and potato salad home to your family for dinner.
17. Before someone uses your telephone at your desk, they have to wipe the chicken grease off the handset.
18. You call in sick on Friday because you went out on Thursday.
19. You tell off your supervisor and a couple of other coworkers on a regular basis - and wonder why you haven't been promoted.
20. You get your haircut/hair done on lunch and come back two hours later. Then you ask "Was anybody looking for me?".
21. You make iced tea out of the free hot tea at work.
22. You come to work on Fridays dressed for the club.
23. Your kids call your job and say to the operator, "Let me speak to my Mama".
24. You are sitting there reading this instead of getting your work done.
25. You don't officially start working in the morning until you read Vanity Pages.

Dope Fiend Rentals and Vagina Power...

Yes it sounds crazy, but I'll explain. Actually I don't understand it myself...but here's the story... So I was talking to a friend of mine and he told me about how he needed to get a "dope fiend rental" for the weekend. With him being a person who doesn't smoke, snort, or inject any drugs, naturally I asked, "Dope fiend rental? What the hell is that?" (He was really referring to renting a car from a place like Enterprise, but he used the term to be funny, so he began to explain). He told me that in the "hood" people buy a dope fiend a "rock" in exchange for their car for a day, a weekend, or however many days they need it. I immediately started laughing hard and then thought about, "well what if they wreck the poor crack heads car?" He said that was the benefit of a "dope fiend" rental. You can "F it up" and give it back and the guy can't say anything about it or if he does, you can just buy him another rock and he'll soon forget all about it.

Now you may be wondering, "how can a crack head afford a car?" Here's the deal, I am from the south, and everyone in the south either has a car, knows someone with a car and/or probably has access to it (there's not as much public transportation there as say, NYC). So, anyway, have any of you ever heard of something like this? This is hilarious to me yet disturbing at the same time. Helping the poor crack head support his habit all because you need to borrow a car! LMAO!

Now on to Vagina Power

So there is this public access show in Atlanta with these two ladies; a mother and her daughter where they discuss...well...you'll have to listen to this for yourself. You may have seen this before but, here's one of the many lessons you may learn, "Don't let every man spank your bottom and talk to you all kind of ways." and "If you really want to earn your man you need to learn your man". In other words, this is good 'ol sista' girl banter at it's finest! As funny as it is, some of you ladies may need to take notes LOL. If you are at work, you may want to plug your earphones in, this is a good one!

The Troubled Youth

I remember this party chant back in the day. Remember when a DJ or a performer would tell the crowd to scream or say stuff like "Hold Up, Wait a Minute" or the chant made famous by House Party, "The Roof, The Roof, THe Roof is on Fire....." ok you know the rest. Well the game just aint the same. I remember in college, we used to say this exact chant that I'm about to show you in this video, and now that I see it and I'm older, I feel a little embarrassed. But don't get me wrong, we had every right to say it. We were grown, drunk, and having a great time. These are Kids. I can tell by the country accents that this was taped down south. Pretty Ricky is so disgusting. I either must be getting old or teenagers have no boundaries or respect for themselves these days. Listen to this Trash! **Caution, this is not work safe! Use earphones or just wait until you get home.

Come Tumbling Down.....

These are just some entertaining videos I found of celebs and models falling. Those damn Vivienne Westwood shoes. If Naomi Campbell can't catwalk in them, no one can. Check it out! HIIIlarious! Make sure you watch it in it's entirety. The last fall is the best!

Just to add gas to the flame.... Check out Carmen Elektra's nasty fall and then right after her, another one.

Check out The Game at one of his performances. I can't believe his Big&Tall ass fell!

And my absolute favorite: Michelle Williams. Have you tried just listening to the fall? That's funnier than watching it. I've seen this fall at least a hundred times and it still tickles me every time.

Peace and Blessings,

Random Thoughts

I remember when Xscape came out. This was around the "light-skinnded/good hair" era, and in every group there was the cute light skinned girl. Well, my favorite singer was Candi. I never cared for Tiny and her whiny voice. I always looked for the cute light "skinnded" chic in girl groups and Tiny didn't do it for me.
Moving on to T.I. and Tiny:
This might sound bad, but remember that old saying about how there is always one person in the couple that can make or break the cuteness? Well T.I. is obviously a heart breaker for a skinny ni***@ (yeah I said it), but Tiny was never a good look for him. I don't care how many babies they have or how great the relationship is, she's not the dime that you expect from T.I.

I need to figure out what Ananda was doing back in the day so when I get to be her age I can maintain that beauty that she has. She still looks fresh and young.

For Fergie to be only 20 somethin' she looks old as hell in the face. It must of been from that Meth' back in the day. Kidz, stay away from hard drugs.

YUCK! Blondie from Danity Kane is supposedly pregnant, great. So she can be in hiding for a while. Beyonce needs to get pregnant as well

This is how a man steps out in a relaxed suit. See, if you saw Usher or some other young cat in this, you probably wouldn't even take a second glance. But if a man can look this good in his 40's, then this is what I want my husband to look like at that age.

I will definitely keep my sexy up at the age of 40 as well. Look at her, she's fabulous. Take a look at Will again, don't these two styles look great together, not people, just the style.

I miss Tamyra (American Idol) when she had the natural afro puff. Now she's all pixied, dyed, and over glamorized. Natural and less make up is always best!

Last but not least.

You're probably wondering who this BUMB is!
Well it's none other than Amy Winehouse. She's the latest singing sensation from the UK. I like the song "Rehab" and that's about it. Now Jay-Z is supposedly interested in collabing with her. What happened to my girl Chrisette? Nigg@$ is sell outs (yep, said it again). I can't listen to countless hours of a drunken slurred Ella Fitzgerald all day. And the vintage tattoos and wild hair can be ok., but me no likey when people look stinky! She looks like her pits smell. I'm just sayin'

It's About Time!!!!

Rap Lyrics Cleanup

New York hip-hop record producer Russell Simmons says educating up-and-coming talents is one way to smooth some of the rough edges on their lyrics. (The sports community used this same approach with up-and coming professional sports players) That's a thought. What about stiff penalties also? For every N word 2million dollars a pop.

It took Imus to realize the difference in rapping and being a poetic really means. If we don't respect our woman, mother, sister our friends, why do we expect anybody else too?

We have been trying to convey this message for years about rap lyrics. "It's about dam time"
It's true we are the only group of people who degrade our women, calling them gold diggers, whores, and bitches. (But all along we are strong, educated, independent and supporting to our men) I feel there are a lot of men who are insecure with themselves and the only way the can feel empowered is to call woman Bitch and whores. If we support and feel it's ok to call our women these names, How can we be upset when another race feels it's ok? "Because it's only hip hop everyone is using it now" (Remember, small minded people, who don't venture out of their own world only know what they see and hear).

Simmons and other music industry executives met this week to discuss what might be done to end the crudity endemic in American society, and why rappers shouldn't be held accountable any less than shock jock Don Imus was for his racist remarks about the Rutgers University women's basketball team.

Randomness for that @$$

Will Ferrell is one of my favorite comedians. Watch this old clip, "Landlord", too funny! I found this on listentoleon

I am officially done with Swiss Beatz ass. I never found him attractive. He needs to push his weight up! He looks like the missing hood gay guy from the Village People. As I continue to say, the whole skinny guy thing with the tight ass pants is whack. Boney is not sexy!

But slim and tailored is a definite sexy

What the hell is wrong with Rachel Roy. She must be depressed. Everything from the make-up to the "Sergeant Pepper" jacket is killing me softly.....can't look anymore

I love her hair in this pic. I wish I was bold enough to buy some expensive-ass weave and have the nerve to cut it in an asymmetrical bob, only for it to look like a hot mess after a weak.

Remember the Good Girls

AMerie looks great..ok we got it. But where is she going and what the hell is she doing with her life. I feel like I always see her in the media, but for what? She never performs, I here no newness coming from her camp. Just Amerie, I need more!

And with the whole "hip-hop is the reason why men call females hoes!" thing is getting way out of control. Correction: this is the reason why the word continues to get perpetuated. Sorry to say but apparently the young 14 year old girl who got humped on stage by Akon is now saying that she is done with hip-hop. Her father, who of course is a reverend, is very appalled by her and Akon's actions. Akon is stupid. Why does he feel that he has to hump people like a damn dog? He's making money and selling albums! You don't have to jig so hard anymore.

Erykah Badu Is Back!!

New CD, New Look, and Still Erykah.
Story by Jamana Jamison
CHICAGO– Conversation and libations flowed freely and equally inside the Park West on Chicago’s North Side following the appetizing musical selection from old-school hip-hop legends EPMD. The crowd was anxiously awaiting the delectable main course, which was about to be served in massive quantities She stood on stage poised more gracefully than ever before, as her hips swayed to the tempo of the drum. The melodic tone that the world fell in love with years ago delivered sweet feelings of nostalgia as she began to serenade the audience.

“Annie ain’t got no panties,” Badu sung seductively as the crowd roared its approval. The men bobbed their heads and the women snapped their fingers, anticipating the clever punch line to her opening verse. Then the beat dropped and Badu continued: “They’re in the bathroom stall where she took them off.” Cheers saturated the room and, in the first three minutes, of her performance it was confirmed: 10 years and three albums later, E. Badu still has her swagger.

Erica Wright of Dallas, Texas (born February 26, 1971), better known as Erykah Badu, is an African-American R&B / hip hop artist whose work crosses over into jazz. She is probably best known for "

She is the only one who can make taking off my panties poetic

Entertainment: Ladies Night, Romeo Goes to College, Forest Whitaker is a Star

Model Jessica White, Kimora Lee Simmons, Tyra Banks, and Beyonce at
the Knicks vs. Nets game at the Madison Square Garden

I personally thought this pic was cute. This reminds me of the "mean" girls from high school. They look like the "bourgeois", stuck up girls that all the boys loved and the girls hated. I love it!

Congrats to Forrest Whitaker for receiving a star at the Hollywood walk of fame.

As much as used to talk shit about all the lil bow wow's and the romeos, this was a very pleasant pic. Lil Romeo always seemed to have his head on his shoulders. He will be receiving a full athletic scholarship to play basketball for USC. He is the first nationally known hip-hop star to receive a full scholarship. That's what I'm talking about. Get that free education even though you can pay for the whole team's. He will do well.

Breaking News: Death Toll Rises to 31 at Virginia Tech Campus Shooting

Our hearts and prayers go out to all of the families that have been affected by this narcisistic rage that took place at Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, Va. - A gunman opened fire in a dorm and classroom at Virginia Tech on Monday, killing at least 21 people in the deadliest campus shooting in U.S. history. The gunman also was killed and some officials expected the death toll to be even higher given that several dozen others were also shot.
“Today the university was struck with a tragedy that we consider of monumental proportions,” said Virginia Tech president Charles Steger. “The university is shocked and indeed horrified.”
The shootings spread panic and confusion on campus, with witnesses reporting students jumping out the windows of a classroom building to escape the gunfire. SWAT team members with helmets, flak jackets and assault rifles swarmed over the campus. Students and faculty members carried out some of the wounded themselves, without waiting for ambulances to arrive.
The university reported shootings at opposite sides of the 2,600-acre campus, beginning at about 7:15 a.m. at West Ambler Johnston, a co-ed residence hall that houses 895 people, and continuing about two hours later at Norris Hall, an engineering building.

Chrisete Michelle- you gotta love her!

Last Wednesday, April 11, 2007 I experienced live music at the Canal Room in NYC. I want to thank Mathew and the great folks at Muzic Theory for the hospitality. And, yes, I call this an experience. No, it was not my first time hearing live music however, it was my first time wanting to cry in a club after hearing Chrisete Michelle play the piano while singing a song called "Love is You" where she ever so eloquently personified love. (And, it was my first time having the lead singer of a band pull me on stage to sing his very, very sensual rendition of De'Angelo's "How does it feel"-but I digress, remind me to tell you more about that later). Now back to business...so I didn't really cry in the club, I just wanted to. In other words, I was absolutely impressed by Chrisete. This was my second time seeing her perform (I first saw her perform at the Nokia Theater-see previous post here) and I must say that I am now more convinced than ever that this girl is, for lack of a better word, the shit! Have you ever listened to a song and knew what the next word was going to be just because the lyrical content was predictable? Well, Chrisete is the complete opposite. This chick obviously has been doing her homework studying music and writing her ass off. I could go on and on about this chick so I'll try to keep this short. All I'm saying is that Chrisete is a force to be reckoned with. I urge you all to give her a chance once her first single comes out in a couple of weeks. Jay-Z's "Lost One" and the Nas "Can't Forget About You" did her some justice but not enough-she needs more than a hook of a song for you to really get the full experience, and yes, I call her voice an experience.
Oh, I almost forgot...the band that opened up for Chrisete was called Franklin Bridge. If I had to compare their sound to another band, I would say they were similar to Mint Condition. They are a 5 member band out of Philadelphia and they are damn good. The band members are Ray Ray, Wayne, Adam, Lil Darrell and lead singer Curt Chambers, who I now have a crush on (damn he sure can sing and play that guitar! all he needs is some tattoos and... oops I forgot y'all were there...) So the last song they performed was a cover of De'Angleo's "How Does it Feel". Apparently, the lead singer likes to pick a very, very attractive young lady out of the crowd and vocally seduce her when he performs this song. Well, with all that being said, I was that lucky lady that got pushed to the front of the crowd to the stage and had the pleasure of receiving this serenade. I was so embarrassed! Nevertheless, I had a great time! You can take a listen to Franklin Bridge at their myspace page by clicking here.

Until next time...

Tight Jeans and Chains

So I went out with a fellow contributor to the Canal Room to check out Chrisette Michele's performance along with local artists, Franklin Bridge and Peter Hadar. I can say I had a great time. Shout out to Mathew at Muzic Theory for allowing us to check out the performances.

As we stood around for about an hour and a half before any artists performed, I began to check out the swagger and the lack there of around me. Usually when I go to events where the majority audience is urban, there is always an outfit that catches my eye. I usually start with the females just to see if I've missed out on anything in the style department as far as for my wardrobe. Nada! Not a damn chick impressed me. Not that every time you go out you have to look all jazzed up, but this is New York City baby! Everyone is forcing to make a statement some way or another. I'm thinking, "I know there's some wanna be actresses and models in the house". Nothing! After the let down from the ladies, I casually checked out the guys. It's funny because anytime I made eye-contact with some of the gentlemen, they gave me the sex eyes. You know:"I see you looking at me girl!"- No Boo! I'm checking out those tight ass True Religion jeans you're wearing. What's up with the hood boys wearing tight jeans along with the played out belt loop chain? The look is so tired and boring. What happened to baggy jeans?

Lil Wayne wearing tight jeans and stupid chain

With all that said, I did find three young men who I felt represented themselves very well. Here are great examples on how to effortlessly step out to a mellow event after work:

It doesn't take much to impress me when it comes to men's wear. The camel wool overcoat with the same color cardigan was what caught my eye. I love men who wear tailored wool coats!

My cousin Duncan (not really my cousin, we kind of resemble though) here looks like a distinguished gentleman all the way. This is a great example of how to wear a tie with jeans. Note: he did not expose the tie, he used it as an accessory to not take away from the relaxed look paired with the jeans. He even has the umbrella to top the look off. Prepared for the New York weather!

Jumz, was the first guy that caught my eye. I could tell that he was not a fashion savvy kind of guy, just by his laid back manner. Any other wanna- be- cool dresser would not have worn this short trench with a closed hoody. Which brings me to my next point: hoodies can look clean without wearing a damn blazer!

Peace and Blessings,

Eddie Nicole

Saying Goodbye To Roscoe Lee Browne

Roscoe Lee Browne
May 2, 1925 - April 11, 2007was an American actor
known for his rich voice and dignified bearing.

With his distinct, mellifluous bass voice and commanding presence, Roscoe Lee Browne is an actor whose appearances are usually unforgettable. Even when he just narrates a film, as in the documentary "Brother Minister: The Assassination of Malcolm X" (1994) or the Oscar-nominated "Babe" (1995), his presence is felt.

With his effete air, Browne has often played cynical characters or educated middle-class African Americans who are winning at the white man's game without sacrificing anything....

Browne died of cancer in Los Angeles on April 11, 2007
I loved him. He stood strong and powerful in any role he played.
He will be missed.

DNA Shows Birkhead Father of Smith Baby
Anna Nicole's Former Boyfriend Wins Paternity Battle

Finally It's Over Guys!!!
By JESSICA ROBERTSON, AP
NASSAU (April 10) - DNA tests prove it: Larry Birkhead is the father of Anna Nicole Smith 's million-dollar baby.

"I told you so!" the late Playboy Playmate's former boyfriend said Tuesday upon emerging from a closed court hearing. He added: "My baby's going to be coming home pretty soon."

Hip-Hop Presents Sa-Ra, The Hollywood Recordings

I am pretty damn excited about this group and I really don't know why. It's not like I have their record or I've witnessed a performance, but I have heard snippets from their myspace page. Myspace is a magical thing because those snippets I heard were indeed magical. Not to sound corny, but I feel that with all the lack-luster crap that's being pumped out of the radio I feel these guys deserve a chance to be heard.

A product of Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music Imprint, Sa-Ra, meaning "offspring of the most powerful energy in the universe" has captivated quite an audience from the likes of Dr. Dre to Jurassic 5. The Sa-Ra Trio, Om'Mas Keith, Taz Arnold, and Shafiq Husayn not only creates for the act of making music for the world but for the universe. Om'Mas says: "People have come to expect and associate Sa-Ra with that which is overtly male, sexual, and free. Anything that you're going to see will be free, colorful, majestic, grand, magic, spiritual--all of those are the terminologies that we associate with our brand."

I even tried to pirate some shit on limewire and I couldn't find anything, so this better be good. It might not save hip-hop in it's entirety, but it will bring the creativity that is missing back to the table.

Peace and Blessings.

I Know, Hip-Hop is Dead. But We Can Still Poke Fun at it!

So it's very apparent that anyone born before 1983 is aware that hip-hop is under a detrimental state right now. Every artist from Nas and Jay-Z, to more conscious artist like Mos Def and Talib Kweli have been ranting and raving about how "our" music has taken a turn for the worst. With the lack of originality and the "biting" of beats and lyrics, no matter what artist, hip-hop radio has turned into a modern day broken record.
Me and millions of others have gradually searched through the archives to find classic artists, such as Slick Rick, Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff, NWA, Public Enemy, De la Soul, Biggy, Jay-Z's (Reasonable Doubt), Ghetto Boys, Goodie Mob, etc. My fellow blogger at eclektic relaxation posted an interesting take on the future of hip-hop. Check out the post here.
Other than rambling about shit that we already know and feel, I found these images of Cameron's Rhyme Books from another fellow blogger at listentoleon. If you know anything about Dip-set, then you will understand how funny this is. I did not realize that these youngins' really feel that groups like Dipset represent real hip-hop.
Great Example: I was at my boyfriend's apt. listening to Slick Rick's "Hey Young World", and his little brother (age 14) goes "what the hell is that?". My first reaction was "what do you mean? what the hell is that? this is a classic". But I soon realized that he had no idea who Slick Rick was, which is understandable. But I tried to school him and he was not hearing it. I even reminded him of Snoop's version of "LaDi Da Di", and explained that it was Slick who was the originator, and the kid was like "Snoop aint' shit either". His favorite rapper is Camron' by the way. I was left dumbfounded. So I just wanted to shit on Dipset for tainting the minds of the youth for posing as "real" hip-hop.
Below are the lyrics to Cam's "Get Em Girls" along with with funny illustrations.
Please pay attention to the details of the Rhyme Book it's so funny!

For Southerners Only: Remember This

Some friends and I were reminiscing about the good ole' days. We talked about how we would eat fried snickers, penny candy, licking sugar cool aid, selling candy at school, etc. The list went on. So I decided to mention pickles and every one was with me until I said "ya'll remember sticking candy in the middle of the pickle". There was a silence as if I said something crazy like, remember eating boogers. I'm like yeah "We used to stick Now and Later's in our pickles, it gave that sweet and sour taste". I later mentioned how we used to argue over the "booty" of the pickle. They were dying laughing after that one. I thought it was universal in all 1980's black society. I guess only in H-town!

Scary Spice gives birth to baby girl

Baby Brown weighs in at 5 pounds, 4 ounces,

NEW YORK - Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown has given birth to a daughter in California, her publicist said Tuesday.

The baby, who weighs 5 pounds, 4 ounces, was born just after midnight Tuesday at St. John’s hospital in Santa Monica, said Nadine Bibi in an e-mail.

“Baby is completely healthy with a good head of hair. Mother and baby are now resting,” the statement said. “No name has been decided on as yet, and (she) is purely known as Baby Brown!” Not Murphy? Wonder if she will be filing for child support from her baby daddy (Eddie Murphy). Stay tuned

Congratulation, I bet she is cute as a button.

Big Willy The 4 Billion Dollar Man!

Will Smith, Hollywood's Most Powerful Actor

by Donna Porter
Will Smith, Hollywood's Most Powerful ActorBeating "The Tom's" (Hanks and Cruise), former leader Mel Gibson, and even Johnny Depp, Will Smith is the most powerful actor in Hollywood. The April 9 issue of Newsweek labels him the $4 billion dollar man, and with good reason. King of Hollywood, and former Prince of Bel-Air, Will Smith boasts a $4.4 billion worldwide career box office, yet there is more to his appeal.

Hollywood insider told Newsweek, "Will Smith is the only thing in this business -the only thing- that represents a guaranteed opening weekend." He may be even bigger than that. "Let's put it this way," says one studio head, "there's Will Smith, and then there are the mortals."Will Smith,38, earned his power honestly. The formidable actor sells movies in any genre he touches: sci-Fi (I, Robot), action-comedy (Men in Black), romantic comedy (Hitch) and drama (The Pursuit of Happyness).

I love Will Smith!
From Rapper, to Fresh Prince, and now a big time Movie Star. Only in America folks, only in America!
